I believe in transparency. Unlike many therapists, I am very open with my clients about my story and my past. Authenticity allows us to be who we are without hiding the ugly parts. All of us struggle through difficulties at some time or another, so why not share what we are learning together? Because I have been betrayed and also struggled with "stinkin thinkin,” I relate to partners and those suffering with addiction alike. I would be honored to create a healing partnership with you.
I am a wounded healer. My recovery began as I attended a support group led by a therapist and became aware of my own dysfunctional traits. I went in believing I could change another human being, and it took me awhile to realize that all I could change was myself. Through my journey, I began leading groups of women in their healing process (oh, how I love groups!), and then became a therapist myself.
What a privilege it is to sit with people in their pain. It is indeed sacred space. As I meet with individuals and couples right where they are, I find out that they are some of the bravest souls. Healing ain’t for sissies, and I am honored to be a part of their process. I believe that peace and joy are attainable and that we should settle for no less in life. This optimism lunges me forward into helping people find their attachment wounds. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a tool I employ to help those stubborn shame beliefs disintegrate so the truth can filter in.
I am passionate about helping partners and those suffering from addiction heal themselves and their relationships. Nothing is better than seeing the redemption that comes as people become whole, healthy, vibrant new creations!
