Customized Intensive Care
An "Intensive" is a model of therapy in which, rather than having shorter weekly or biweekly sessions, clients come for much longer periods of intense work. Our intensives typically range from one to four days in length, and each one is custom designed for clients. We offer intensives for a number of purposes, including those listed below.

We have built our process for disclosure utilizing the latest research on treatment for sexual addicts, partner trauma, and family therapy, as well as our Couple–Centered Recovery® model. The experience is designed to help move couples toward reestablishing connection and trust in the relationship. These intensives require extensive preparation at least four weeks in advance. Use of a therapeutic polygraph is optional. Depending on client needs, these intensives last from one to three days.
Couple's Grief Work
Many couples get stuck in the weeks and months after completing a therapeutic disclosure, each experiencing his or her own process of grief. Grief work is powerfully important in the healing process. If couples do not grieve together, they do not heal together. This Couple–Centered Recovery® intensive is designed to help couples reclaim a collaborative narrative within their relationship, coming to a shared sense of both loss and hope.
Transforming Relational Dynamics
When couples begin or find themselves stuck in the recovery process, often an intensive therapeutic experience can help launch them on a course for progress and healing. Ranging from one to three days, these experiences utilize the Couple–Centered Recovery® model to combine relational trauma work, recovery skill-building, and communication tools for an experience designed to reconnect partners with a common vision for their relationship.
Relational Trauma Intensives
The Freedom to Move Forward Intensive™ helps participants understand the effects of relational trauma—whether experienced in childhood or present relationships—which is an important step in healing the underlying dynamics at work in dysfunctional behaviors and relationships. Each intensive is designed with the participating clients in mind. These experiences can be done individually, but are most commonly offered for groups. Extensive preparation is often required to participate. Relational Trauma Intensives last between one and three days, depending upon client needs.
The Daring Way™
The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. During the process topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness are explored. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
Recovery & Healing Foundations
Some clients just entering the process of recovery need or want to step out and experience an immersion into the process of healing. Whether you are the person with the addiction or the partner who has experienced betrayal trauma, we can collaborate with you to create an intensive experience to help you gain a solid foundation toward your own recovery and healing, setting you up for success in the longterm. Each experience is designed for the needs of the particular client.
